John Chatwell, PT, DPT, OCS

John is a Physical Therapist at Prairie Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery, PC who graduated with a Bachelor of Science – Biology, from Concordia University, Nebraska in 2013 and a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Missouri State University in 2017.

As a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS), nationally recognizing him as an advanced practitioner of Orthopedic Physical Therapy, John has specialized training in treatments of spine, neck, and upper and lower extremities. For the treatment of such issues, John regularly incorporates advanced manual therapy treatments to help improve joint motion, reduce pain, and restore functional mobility with complex motions combined with therapeutic exercise/training. Additional areas of expertise include treatment of jaw (TMJ) pain, vertigo, and neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease. 

For the injured worker, John has specialty training on return to work rehabilitation, completion of Functional Capacity evaluations (FCEs), and work conditioning programs.

Providing excellent patient care and education regarding the patient’s problem, prognosis, and plan of care is a driving force for John. Listening to a patient’s needs and desires is the paramount of his focus, guiding the plan of care to help the patient towards their desired goals and aspirations.

Outside of Prairie, John and his wife, Christina, reside together in Lincoln, Nebraska near much of their friends and family. They regularly enjoy being outside, exploring their community, playing golf, touring and traveling local and national sites, and hiking.

Regularly treats: Spine pain (low back, neck, and mid back), shoulder, knee, hip, foot and ankle, elbow, TMJ (jaw pain), vertigo (i.e. BPPV), Parkinson’s Disease.
