
PATRICK HURLBUT, MD
Dr. Hurlbut is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon. He completed his residency at the University of Vermont in 1993, and a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery in 1994 at the University of Minnesota. He subsequently earned a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Hurlbut has been admitted to that American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), an elite professional society of hand surgeons. Prairie Orthopaedic & Plastic Surgery, PC and Dr. Hurlbut’s team uses the most advanced treatment options for recovery of maximum mobility, strength, and return of function. Dr. Hurlbut’s passion has been the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder, elbow and hand injuries but he also continues to practice in many areas of orthopaedics including total joint replacement and knee arthroscopy.

GUSTAVO MACHADO, MD
Dr. Gustavo Machado is a Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand and Upper Extremity Surgeon. He joins the practice from California where he completed an Integrated Residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Loma Linda University, and a Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Fellowship at the University of California Irvine Medical Center. Throughout his years of training he was involved with research and academia and has published several scientific articles and given presentations at national and regional meetings. Dr. Machado is a native of Brazil and received his medical school training in Argentina. He is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.

KARA KREJCI-REED, DPM
Dr. Krejci-Reed is a Board Certified Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Krejci-Reed recently completed a one-year sports medicine, trauma, and reconstructive fellowship at Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Center, in Malvern, Pennsylvania. She also completed residency training with certification in rearfoot and ankle surgery in Scranton, Pennsylvania at Geisinger Community Medical Center where she received extensive training in diabetic foot care, wound care, limb preservation, and deformity correction. Her areas of interest and expertise include: ankle arthroscopy, correction of bunions and hammer toes, treatment of arthritic, nerve, skin and nail conditions, flatfoot and neurologic foot corrections, total ankle replacements, and ankle fracture repair with external fixators. Dr. Krejci-Reed enjoys traveling, biking, hiking, waterskiing, and reading. A native of Springfield, Nebraska she is happy to be back in her home state and excited to join the Prairie family.

LYGIA PLIOPLIS, PA-C, MPAS
Lygia is a Nebraska Certified Physician Assistant at Prairie Orthopaedic & Plastic Surgery, PC and has been with the Prairie team since 2008. Lygia was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil and moved to Nebraska after graduating from high school. She graduated from Union College with her Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies. She is married and has three handsome boys. Lygia is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Nebraska Academy of Physician Assistants.

SHAUN RING, PA-C, NCCPA
Shaun is a Nationally Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) at Prairie Orthopaedic & Plastic Surgery, PC and has been with the Prairie team since 2019. Shaun was born in Council Bluffs, IA and moved to Lincoln, NE when he was 8 years old. He has been in the US Army for 22 years, and currently serves in the US Army Reserves in Omaha. He graduated from the University of the Pacific in Sacramento, CA with a Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies. Shaun is married and has 3 children. Shaun is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the California Academy of Physician Assistants.

JILL GAMBLE, PA-C
Jill is a Nationally Certified Physician Assistant at Prairie Orthopaedic & Plastic Surgery, PC and has been with the Prairie team since 2021. She is a Lincoln native and graduated with her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Union College in 2015. Jill then spent 5 years in Georgia with her husband and son working in Orthopaedics and Rheumatology and is thrilled to be near extended family in Nebraska again. She is a member of the Nebraska Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

KAILIN MCCLUNG, PA-C
Kailin is a Nationally Certified Physician Assistant at Prairie Orthopaedic & Plastic Surgery, PC, and has been with the Prairie team since 2020. She is from Big Springs, NE and graduated with her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Union College in 2020. Kailin studied nutrition at the University of Wyoming and completed her dietetics internship to become a registered dietitian from Iowa State University in 2017. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
