Erica HeimanErica Heiman, MPT, OCS, MSA
Erica Heiman is the Physical Therapist at Prairie Shoulder, Elbow and Hand Center. Erica was born and raised in North Central Nebraska and went to undergraduate at Chadron State College in Western Nebraska. Erica received her Master’s in Physical Therapy from University of Nebraska Medical Center and her Master’s in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University. Erica also has an advanced certification in Woman’s Health Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University.

Erica worked in the rural setting for 8 years prior to joining Prairie Shoulder, Elbow and Hand Center. There she treated a wide variety of cleintale including out-patient orthopeadics, in-patient acute care, nursing home, and home health patients. However, her primary emphasize and the majority of her caseload was always out-patient orthopaedic patients.

In 2006 Erica joined Dr. Patrick Hurlbut to allow her to follow her interests of pursuing full time orthopaedic physical therapy with an emphasize in shoulder rehabilitation. To that end, she has completed several advanced orthopaedic courses focusing on difficult shoulder problems. Erica works closely with Dr. Hurlbut to ensure that each patient is treated with a custom approach designed for their type of surgery or injury. All treatments are tailored to the individuals unique needs while taking into consideration their pain, work requirements, and home environment.

In 2010, Erica earned the designation of Orthopaedic Certified Specialist.  This advanced certification is a testament to the level of knowledge patients should expect from the Prairie staff.

Erica currently resides in Springfield, Nebraska with her husband and two boys. In her free time Erica enjoys gardening, genealogy, and watching her children’s sports activities.
